New Year's Greetings
happy new year.
As we begin 2026, I would like to extend my sincere New Year's greetings.
Now, the city and campus are bustling with activity, as if the pandemic never happened.
The campus life that was on the verge of disappearing is now showing new forms, not only in terms of academics and educational research, but also in various events and extracurricular activities. Our university must leverage the characteristics of its two campuses, one urban and one suburban, and make a leap forward as a center of knowledge.
Aoyama campus already boasts the long-awaited Maclay Memorial Hall Hall, a library and hub for academic information dissemination, as well as the Aoyama Museum, which focuses on themes such as the history of Christianity in early modern and modern Japan and the history of Aoyama.
Sagamihara Campus serves as a hub for science and engineering, and as a center for disseminating cutting-edge interdisciplinary initiatives, supporting new developments in education and research across the entire university, transcending the boundaries of the humanities and sciences. In this way, the 11 faculties and 2 Professional Graduate Schools located on both Aoyama and Sagamihara campuses stimulate each other, further strengthening the collaboration of knowledge for the benefit of society.
Going forward, I renew my commitment to the future, hoping to continue producing well-rounded students who embrace diversity and possess a global perspective, and to evolve as a university that grows and becomes a trusted entity in society.
With our school motto, "Salt of the Earth, Light of the World," once again held high, we pray that this will be a year in which all students can shine. We also wish you all a wonderful year.
