Faculty Overview
MESSAGE ?
It is often said that School of Global Studies and Collaboration is a faculty where it is difficult to understand what it does. If I had to describe the faculty in a few words, I would say that it is a cutting-edge faculty that deals with global issues and creates a bright future.
When it comes to solving global problems, one might think that this is a faculty that trains people who will go on to work for NPOs or international organizations in the future, but in fact, it is also a faculty that produces human resources that are widely sought after by companies. As a business consultant, I have worked to advise global managers on business strategies. One of the words that managers always use is ESG. ESG stands for Environment (E), Social (S), and Governance (G), and it is common knowledge among global managers that these three perspectives are essential for a company to grow in the long term. In addition to experts covering ESG, our faculty also collaborates with experts in management and cutting-edge technology to create synergies that are not found at other universities, and produces human resources who are active in society in a wide range of fields.
In addition, our faculty also places emphasis on practical skills for playing an active role on a global scale. First of all, you need English as a high-level communication tool that you can use in practice. Our faculty aims to strengthen your English skills intensively and practically from your first year. We have programs for improving your English skills at each level, and you can acquire high levels of English through thorough discussions and presentations in English by native speaker teachers. If you are motivated, anyone can acquire English that can be used globally. Furthermore, you can accumulate practical, real-life cross-cultural experiences on-site through a semester of study abroad in Southeast Asian countries as a practical place to use your English to solve global issues.
School of Global Studies and Collaboration believes that a symbiotic mindset that goes beyond preconceived notions and allows for borderless collaboration will be important in society going forward. We want the world to be one in which people can empathize with each other with a symbiotic mindset, regardless of their educational background, gender, age, nationality, etc. And we want to nurture students who will take on the responsibilities of such a world.

For a better global society
In a dynamically changing global society, new connections are being created that transcend all borders. Global flows of people, freely evolving media and culture. While these connections are completely transforming the world and creating new possibilities, they are also bringing to light a variety of issues on a global scale. What is needed to understand environmental issues, conflicts, economic and information disparities, and other issues that are global but also affect our daily lives, explore their causes, and find solutions? School of Global Studies and Collaboration offers a combination of four fields of study: political science, economics and business administration, media and spatial information studies, and sociology. By learning interdisciplinaryly beyond the boundaries of specialized academic fields, students will acquire the ability to grasp the complex society in which we live from a variety of perspectives.
