Absence from classes
Our university does not have an "official absence system" that allows absences for specific reasons. If you are absent from class due to injury, illness, suspension of attendance due to infectious diseases that should be prevented at school, bereavement, etc., please notify the teacher in charge directly at the next class and follow their instructions. If you are absent for a long period of time, please consult the academic affairs office at your campus.
If your child is diagnosed with an infectious disease such as measles or influenza, please refer to the link below for information on infectious diseases that should be prevented at school.
Regarding "Handling of classes" and "Means of communication" in the event of an emergency
If regular public transportation is suspended due to an accident, disaster, etc., classes will be handled as follows:
1. Responses when regularly used transportation services are suspended
⑴ If you determine that you can get to school using alternative transportation, please make every effort to do so, unless it is a dangerous situation.
⑵ If you are unable to get to school because you are unable to use alternative transportation, please fill out the “Notice of Absence Due to Public Transportation Outage” available at the Academic Affairs Office on your campus, along with a delay certificate or accident certificate issued by your public transportation company, and submit it to the instructor of the class to receive instructions on how to make up the missed classes.
2. Responses when a typhoon approaches
If damage is expected due to an approaching typhoon or other cause, special measures such as class cancellations may be taken.
3. What to do when a large earthquake is expected to occur
(1) School closures will be implemented as soon as the news of the convening of the "Regional Assessment Committee for Strengthening Earthquake Disaster Prevention Measures" under the Large-Scale Earthquake Countermeasures Special Measures Act is reported.
⑵ When the alert declaration is lifted or the “assessment meeting” is disbanded, school closures will be lifted and normal classes will resume.
