Master's Program

This is a required course for first-year students, and will teach methods for searching legal literature and the basics of foreign law. |
| Foundation subjects: Research Methodology IB |
Based on Research Methodology IA, participants will give in-depth reports on cases or literature they have independently selected, and hold discussions with relevant faculty members. |
| Foundation subjects: Comprehensive Public Law Seminar |
Several faculty members specializing in public law will set a research theme, give lectures in an omnibus format from their respective areas of expertise, and conduct analysis from a broad perspective. |
| Specialized Subjects: Research in each specialized field |
There are many applied and developed courses in the field of public law, including constitutional law, criminal law, criminal procedure law, international law, international criminal law, international human rights law, tax law, administrative law, social security law, legal philosophy, speech law, political science, and the history of Japanese political thought, depending on the specialization of each graduate student. |
| Specialized Subjects: Reading foreign books, research and practice in French law, German law, and EU law |
Comparative law is essential for the study of each law. To do so, students need to be able to read and understand legal documents in each field in a foreign language, as well as have a good grasp of comparative law. This course is designed to help students acquire these skills. |

Unlike other courses that anyone can take, supervisors provide individual guidance to their students for two years, with the aim of helping them write a thorough master's thesis. |
