Features of Major Subjects
International Communication Course (Master's degree)
| Subject Name | Features |
| Modern Linguistic Issues | This paper introduces the basic concepts of this approach and the basic methods of syntactic analysis as a starting point for a research program aimed at elucidating the universal system governing all languages as a biological endowment inherent in humans, and also considers the emergence and evolution of language, which is currently an area of active research. |
| Latin American Cultural Studies | The course focuses on Latin American (Central and South American) society and culture, and aims to provide students with basic knowledge to gain a comprehensive understanding of the region. We hope to provide an opportunity to think about issues not only in Latin America, but also in Japan and the world. |
| Language Policy | In multilingual cities, language issues cannot be resolved by national language policies alone. One of the interesting aspects of language policy research is that it reexamines language responses at the organizational level (e.g., companies) and at the individual level (e.g., teachers and caregivers) within the framework of language policy. In this class, students will learn data collection and analysis methods while looking at case studies, and will also practice creating a research plan. |
