Educational and research objectives

We would like to introduce the educational and research objectives of Aoyama Gakuin University Graduate School Graduate School of Social Informatics.

Graduate School of Social Informatics aims to foster highly skilled individuals who can integrate social sciences and information sciences, thereby identifying problems in modern society from an extremely multifaceted perspective that goes beyond the traditional framework of humanities and sciences, and who can independently seek to solve these problems.
In today's crowded society, such abilities are essential for people who wish to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world and play an active role in any field, including finance, economics and regional policy, and information systems.
To achieve this goal, the master's program includes the Social Informatics course and the Human Innovation course.
The Social Informatics course aims to train individuals who have a thorough understanding of management and economic concepts, excellent analytical skills for social and economic activities (data analysis, social surveys, etc.), a foundation in psychology and education necessary for thinking about people and society, the ability to process qualitative as well as quantitative information, a mathematical foundation, a foundation for making advanced use of information, and a wide range of knowledge for building information systems.
The Human Innovation course aims to train learning environment designers and producers for educational institutions, community designers and producers for public and non-profit organizations, and innovative organizational designers and producers for corporate corporations, all of whom are in high demand in society.To achieve this, we place "learning studies" that produces true practical skills at the core of our education, and on that basis we provide an education that combines the study of conceptualization, the study of intelligence emergence, and organizational innovation theory.
The educational and research objective of the doctoral program is to train individuals who have acquired the advanced research capabilities and rich academic knowledge necessary to conduct independent research activities as researchers in the field of social informatics, or to engage in highly specialized work in interdisciplinary fields related to social informatics.
