Comprehensive learning through education and psychology
You will study the four areas common to education and psychology - "clinical," "developmental," "information," and "physical" - and acquire specialized knowledge in each field.
Acquire theoretical and practical knowledge
College of Education, Psychology and Human Studies aims to develop individuals with the ability to self-educate and act toward solving problems. To this end, we have developed a well-balanced study program that allows students to acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge. We also place emphasis on an approach that focuses on each individual.
Unique lessons using special classrooms and laboratories
We have special classrooms and laboratories, such as an ICT education seminar room and a psychology laboratory, and provide distinctive classes that enable more practical and specialized learning.
Developing learning of "theory" and "practice"
The major feature of this faculty is that students apply the knowledge they have acquired in theory in exercises and practical training, add the experiential knowledge they have gained through practice to their own theories, and then apply it to the next practice. Both departments have a well-balanced curriculum, including "exercise subjects" that are connected to practice as well as theory from the first year. After acquiring a solid foundation of skills, students can move on to specialized education that matches their future goals.
Realizing great synergy by combining Department of Education and Department of Psychology
There are four areas of study common to both education and psychology: "clinical," "development," "information," and "physical." These areas are the foundation and core of education and research in both departments, and are essential for a comprehensive, scientific understanding of human beings. We have established shared fields where students can study based on this common understanding, and we are flexible in responding to mutual collaborative learning between the two departments. For example, the research area of children and adolescents, which has been the main focus of research, can be broadened from both education and psychology to cover the entire human lifespan, from infants to the elderly, in clinical terms. College of Education, Psychology and Human Studies provides an environment where students can deepen their expertise in both education and psychology while acquiring a broad perspective.
