Tuition and Scholarships (Regular Students)

Payment of tuition fees

Tuition fees are to be paid by automatic bank transfer. Students can choose to pay in one lump sum or in installments (first and second semesters). Tuition fees will be deducted in one lump sum for the year and first semester (only for enrolled students) on Friday, June 6th, and in Tuesday, November 25th for the second semester in 2025. Please register your bank account in advance and deposit the required tuition fees by the day before the account transfer date. Accounting Division will provide you with information on how to register your account. (Only bank accounts in Japan can be registered.) If tuition fees are not paid by the designated date, not only will you lose your eligibility to take the exam according to Article 51 of the University Regulations, but you will also be "expelled" according to Article 34 of the University Regulations. In addition, in such cases, the university is required to report to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the Immigration Bureau of the Ministry of Justice that you have been "expelled due to non-payment of tuition fees," which may hinder your ability to obtain a visa to enter Japan in the future.

Tuition payment certificate

This is a certificate that certifies the tuition fees paid to our university for that academic year. If you need one, please fill out and apply for a Tuition Fees Certificate at Academic Fees and Scholarships Division (Aoyama Campus) or Student Life Division (Sagamihara Campus).

  • It usually takes about a week from application. If you wish to collect your certificate at the counter, we will contact you via the portal when it is ready.
  • We receive a lot of requests for certificates at the end of the year and at the end of the fiscal year. Please apply early to ensure that your certificate arrives in time for when you need it.

Procedures for changing the address for sending tuition remittance requests

Undergraduate students who pay their own tuition fees by receiving money from their guardians in their home countries can change the addressee of the Academic Fees and Scholarships Division (Aoyama Campus)/Student Life Division (Sagamihara Campus) and submit it by April if possible (applications are accepted at any time after that).
*If you have already completed this procedure, the change will remain valid until graduation, even after the submission period has ended. Please note that even after completing this change procedure, notifications from the university other than the tuition transfer request form (such as grade reports) will be sent to the guardian or second contact as a general rule. If you wish to stop receiving grade reports, please complete the procedure at Academic Affairs Department, Academic Affairs Division (Aoyama Campus) / Academic Affairs Division (Sagamihara Campus).

Tuition deferral

Students who wish to defer payment due to financial difficulties or special circumstances must obtain permission by submitting the designated "Application for Tuition Deferral" to Academic Fees and Scholarships Division (Aoyama Campus) / Student Life Division (Sagamihara Campus) by the designated deadline. Payment can be deferred for approximately one month. Please check the student portal for the application period.

Notes

The above scholarships are for privately funded international students, and are not available to government-sponsored international students or international students whose tuition fees are covered by a foreign government or scholarship organization. The scholarships offered vary depending on the faculty/graduate school and the academic year, so please check the application requirements when applying. Applications for scholarships for privately funded international students are generally made after enrollment. Also, since it is very difficult to obtain a scholarship immediately after enrollment, you should not base your study abroad plans on receiving a scholarship. When applying, you will need to have the funds necessary for studying abroad secured by yourself.
