| Advanced Fluid Mechanics | This course provides an overview of various flows and their applications, and teaches how fluid mechanics is useful in the real world. The class format is for students to read the textbook, research, think about it, present, and participate in question-and-answer sessions, thereby cultivating their self-study and presentation skills. |
| Specialized Study on Mechanics of Materials | Learn the basics of solid mechanics, which is the mechanics of deforming objects. In particular, we will lecture on the basic concepts of stress and strain, the conditions that their quantities must satisfy, and the stress and deformation of solids with crack-like defects. The goal is to understand the mechanical behavior of deforming solids, as well as to acquire basic knowledge of elastic mechanics and linear fracture mechanics. |
| Physics Gas Dynamics | This class will provide students with a chance to revisit gas dynamics from a microscopic perspective, something they did not learn at the undergraduate level, and to gain an understanding of how actual gases move. This class will be conducted primarily in English, and we hope that it will also be useful in improving the English language skills of graduate students. |
