Subject Name Features
Basic Exercises (1)Ⅰ The aim of this course is to teach the basic techniques and procedures of French literature and language research, which are essential for research at the graduate level. The aim is to learn how to collect documents and acquire the basic knowledge necessary for writing a thesis. By carrying out practical training using academic papers as material, students will be able to contribute to future research in line with their own research themes.
Basic Exercises (2) I & II The aim of this course is to learn how to write a thesis in French. You will learn how to write an introduction, main body, and conclusion that clearly outlines the whole story and persuades the reader. This is a very practical course in which you will also think about how to select and use appropriate examples to effectively persuade the reader.
Research Guidance Seminar I & II We provide detailed research guidance for the writing of master's degree dissertations on French literature, language, thought, and language culture. We help students develop and implement research plans based on their research themes, receive regular reports on the progress of their research, and exchange opinions with them.
Research Guidance Seminar III & IV We provide research guidance for the writing of master's degree thesis on French literature, language, thought, and language culture. We receive reports on the results of literature research and previous research necessary for the writing of master's degree thesis, and provide optimal advice according to the writing situation, guiding students to the completion of their master's degree thesis.

Subject Name Features
Research Guidance Seminar V & VI This course will deepen the specialized knowledge acquired in the master's course, familiarize students with how to collect literature prior to the planning of a doctoral dissertation, and conduct research, analysis, and evaluation of previous research on the subject. It also provides practical advice on oral presentations and dissertation writing.
Research Guidance Seminar VII & VIII We will provide research guidance to further refine the knowledge and skills acquired in Research Guidance Seminars V and VI, and to prepare students for the "Doctoral Thesis Plan," which is a prerequisite for submitting a doctoral thesis. We will encourage research activities such as presenting at academic conferences and writing papers for academic journals such as the Aoyama Gakuin University College of Literature Letters Bulletin, and provide appropriate advice.
Research Guidance Seminar IX & X The course aims to deepen students' research, organization, and analysis of previous research, and to clarify their own awareness of the issues at hand. It also provides concrete advice on academic presentations and writing papers, encouraging students to present their research results. It also provides practical advice on completing doctoral dissertations.
