MESSAGE ?

Resolving issues facing the international community through a global perspective

As globalization progresses, the international community is faced with a mountain of problems that will be difficult to solve unless we share and tackle them together. Since its establishment in 1982, the School of School of International Politics, Economics and Communication has striven to integrate the learning of each department to tackle these problems and to develop human resources who can contribute to the international community.
The distinctive feature of this learning is the curriculum that emphasizes specialization and internationality. Students deepen their specialized knowledge in each of the three departments, while organically connecting the knowledge they have acquired to lead to new findings. In order to cultivate internationality, we also place emphasis on second language education as well as English education. Students learn foreign languages while being aware of the culture and values behind the language.
Furthermore, we have developed the Global Studies Program (GSP), where specialized subjects are taught in English. In addition to knowledge and skills, a sense of the field is essential to address global issues. The faculty invites UN officials, business people active in the business world, and prominent researchers from Japan and overseas to give intensive lectures. Understanding the global situation from the "real voices" based on their real-life experiences will greatly broaden your perspective.

Numerous lectures and exercises will cultivate the ability to debate and discuss based on evidence (quantitative and qualitative data). This will help students develop the ability to work with those around them to improve the situation, which is a necessity right now, and to communicate with the world. What you learn at this faculty will be useful for both specialized activities in Japan and wide-ranging efforts on a global scale. Our students are studying hard every day for the future, hoping to contribute to the realization of a better world.

ABOUT US ?

Educational and research objectives

We will humbly pursue the truth, interact with people around the world, and cultivate personalities that can contribute to peace and prosperity.

Nurturing human resources who can thrive in a global society

With the progress of globalization, we can now cross borders more freely than ever before and interact with people of different ethnicities, cultures, histories, and languages. Even within countries, cultural diversity is increasing, and there is a need for coexistence and collaboration that transcends differences in language, ethnicity, customs, and gender. Developments in IT technology and artificial intelligence have made our daily lives more convenient and enabled us to exchange opinions with anyone in the world over the Internet. However, on the other hand, conflicts are occurring all over the world, unexpected disasters are occurring frequently, and the world is becoming more uncertain.
It is becoming increasingly necessary for each and every one of us to go beyond national frameworks and tackle various issues on a global scale, not only in the areas of diplomacy, finance, and trade, but also in areas such as NGOs, resources, energy, and the environment.
The School of School of International Politics, Economics and Communication was established in 1982 with the mission of educating international civil servants, including UN staff, and other individuals who will play an active role on the international stage. Today, the School continues to aim to nurture leaders who will lead the global society.
