Educational and research objectives
Department of Public and Regional Economics aims to develop social design-oriented individuals with practical skills, such as the ability to understand the roles and interrelationships between the public sector and international and local communities based on the wisdom of economics, the ability to discover and analyze issues surrounding the contemporary economy, and the ability to formulate policies to resolve them.
Diploma Policy (Policy for Graduation Certification and Degree Awarding)

- Have systematically acquired the fundamentals of economics based on public economics and regional economics.
- Have the ability to apply the specialized knowledge they have acquired to various issues in the modern economy and to actively drive the market economy.
■Thinking ability, judgment ability, expressive ability
In response to the various problems that arise in the real economy and society, students will be able to go beyond their own interests and propose what systems and policies are desirable for society from the perspective of realizing a fair economy and society, and will be able to explain these to the general public in an easy-to-understand manner.
■ Motivation, interest, and attitude
Based on independent thinking, they have the drive, flexibility, and cooperation to contribute to society.
Curriculum Policy (Policy for creating and implementing educational courses)
In order to cultivate the ability to explore specific problems surrounding the social economy and propose solutions, a systematic group of subjects is prepared based on the two pillars of public economics and regional economics, and the exercise and practical subjects are arranged with mutual relevance and consistency, creating a curriculum that allows students to gradually deepen their specialized knowledge. Core subjects are arranged in the first and second years, and from the second half of the second year, the course is divided into a "public course" and a "regional course." Depending on the course selected, students will progress to specialized subjects in the third and fourth years. Furthermore, students can study spatial analysis using GIS (geographic information systems) as part of each course.
