The opening ceremony for the "Japanese Language and Literature Education Research Laboratory" at Kyiv National University was held, which was completed using a donation from Aoyama.
In October 2022, Russian airstrikes caused extensive damage to the buildings of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv State University in Ukraine, a partner institution of Aoyama Gakuin University University. Kyiv State University requested support to continue its research and educational activities, and Aoyama collected donations in April 2023, raising a total of 1,306,823 yen. These donations were used to establish the "Japanese Language and Literature Education Research Laboratory," and an opening ceremony and the opening ceremony of the academic conference to be held in this laboratory were held.
